HOME GROWN FAITH
St. Dennis’Home Grown Faith is an intergenerational faith formation program for children from grades 1-8th.
Faith formation staff will meet with parents on a monthly basis to guide and assist parents in using faith formation resources in their home with their children. Parents are provided and guided through three resources to help bring their children up in faith:
Call to Faith:
A religion textbook which will help your children deepen their faith through stories, visuals, activities, prayers, and seasonal celebrations. Parents will be guided in instructing their children in one unit (several chapters) per month to complete the grade level text from October through May.
Take Out – Family Fun on the Go:
A monthly magazine that gives parents the tools and practical examples they need to grow their family’s faith with this 8 page, monthly mini-magazine stuffed with Catholic values and principles.
Magnifkids:
MagnifiKid! is for children between the ages of six and twelve. You will begin to receive the issues on a monthly basis. In each month’s packet, children will find a booklet of sixteen color pages for each Sunday, and also special issues for all major feast days (Christmas, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, Ascension,Assumption, All Saints Day).
Each week Magnifikid offers:
- All the readings and the prayers of the Sunday Mass with explanations of the difficult words and the meaning of the rituals;
- A daily prayer adapted from the Liturgy of the Hours;
- Many suggestions on how to live the entire week with the Lord;
- Various games, a comic, and activites to help children learn about Christian life and culture
- A page intended for the parents with suggestions for family prayer
Monthly Meetings will be on Wednesdays at 9 am OR 7 pm in the St. Dennis Parish Center. Our next dates ar Nov 2, Dec 2, Jan 11, Feb 1, March 7, April 4, May 2. See Calendar for up to date schedule.
Active parishioner families cost: $135.00 for the first child, 2nd child is $65.00, and 3rd child is $25.00. For non active families: $200.00 for the first child, 2nd child is $90.00, and 3rd child is $40.00
Special Offer: Families who attend Home Grown Faith may also attend Generations of Faith for the discounted rate of $60.00 per household.
