"What have we to do in order to become saints?  Nothing extraordinary;

nothing more than we do every day.  Only do it for His love."

             -Saint Mother Theodore Guerin

     St. Dennis students and parish seniors enjoyed a presentation on the life of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin.  It was a wonderful opportunity to gain insight into the experiences that led St. Mother Theodore Guerin to Terra Haute, Indiana where she founded the Sisters of Providence at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.  Under her leadership, the Sisters of Providence went on to establish Catholic schools in Indiana and Illinois, including our very own, established Sacred Heart School in 1881 and renamed St. Dennis School in 1957.

   In October of 2007, in honor of the 1st Anniversary of her canonization, St. Dennis School established the Saint Mother Theodore Guerin Scholarship Fund to provide tuition assistance to those who might otherwise be unable to afford a Catholic education.  If you would like to make a donation to the scholarship fund, please contact our parish office at 815-838-2592.
