Point Of Excellence
|
Community:
The first thing you
will observe at Saint Dennis is the seamless integration
of the school with the parish community. The
parish mission states that St. Dennis is a welcoming,
Spirit-led, Catholic Community called to be disciples of
Christ, servants of those in need and celebrators of
God’s love and there is evidence of that in everything
we do.
Spirituality:
Traditional Catholic values form the
cornerstone of the Saint Dennis experience. Your
child will be nurtured spiritually and will be given the
opportunity to develop the gifts that God has given
them. They will also be challenged to use those
gifts to improve the world by living Christ’s message.
- Christian spirituality and morality permeates
the entire curriculum.
- Your child will explore their faith during
classroom instruction, through the
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program, and
through group activities with their “faith
families.”
- Your child will practice their faith by
participating in liturgical preparation for the
School Liturgies and through service projects.
- Your child will receive sacramental preparation
through instruction, projects and retreats.
Academic Excellence:
Using a successful blend of traditional
and current teaching methods, Saint Dennis School offers your child a challenging curriculum
that is based on Joliet Diocesan and Illinois State standards.
- Your child will receive instruction in our fully
networked computer lab.
- Spanish is taught beginning in the early grades.
- Music and Art are both part of our curriculum.
Your child will also have the opportunity to
participate in our award-winning School Choir.
- Small class sizes
- Teacher aides assist preschool through 4th grade
assuring individualized attention for your child.
- Over half of the teaching staff either have or
are actively working on an advanced degree.
- Your child will have the opportunity to
participate in various academic competitions
including Battle of the Books, Science Fair, Spelling Bee
and Geography Bee (participation in local, regional,
and state levels).
- To enhance communication between faculty and
parents of students in 4th through 8th grades, you
are able to access your child's grades online at any
time through TeacherEase.
